Privacy
Openview saves your work to your account. Signed out, you can use every feature, but your charts, drawings, watchlists, alerts, journal and settings last only until you close the tab: nothing is stored on your device and nothing is sent to us. Create a free account and that work is saved to it and follows you to any device you sign in on.
Visitor statistics
We count visits so we know which parts of the site people use. This records the pages opened, the buttons and links clicked, the site you arrived from, and the country, device type and browser reported by your connection. It is handled by PostHog on our behalf.
We set no cookies for this. Nothing is stored on your device and nothing identifies you between visits, so we cannot tell a returning visitor from a new one — which is also why you are never asked to accept cookies.
What it never records: anything you type. No form contents, no search terms, no keystrokes, and no recording of your screen. If you do not have an account, no profile of you is created — only the visit is counted.
There is no advertising on this site, no advertising or social-media tracking pixel, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.
If you create an account
An account is how your work is kept and how it follows you to another device. If you sign up with email, with Google, or with Apple (in the iPhone app), we store:
- Your email address and, for Google sign-in, your name and profile picture. For Apple sign-in, the address Apple shares (it may be a private relay address) and your name, if you allow it.
- A display name, username and avatar, if you choose to set them.
- A synced copy of your own data: journal trades and notes, portfolios and holdings, tracked wallet addresses, watchlists, price alerts, chart layouts, drawings, indicator templates and Pine scripts.
- API keys you make in Settings, so an AI tool you choose can use your account. We keep only a fingerprint (hash) of each key, its name, its first 8 characters and when it was last used — never the key itself.
This is stored with Supabase, our database provider. Access rules mean only your account can read or write your rows. Sign-in happens over Google, Apple or Supabase; we never see your password.
Things that are public by choice
- A profile picture you upload is stored in a public bucket. Anyone with the direct link can view it.
- Comments and reactions you leave on Reports are public, under the nickname you pick. Do not put anything private in them.
Data that leaves your browser as you chart
Live prices come straight from the exchanges — Binance, Bybit, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX and Gate.io. Your browser connects to them directly, so those exchanges can see your IP address, the same as visiting their own sites. Some price and news requests instead go through our server, which hides your IP from the source. Charts, news and research data are fetched this way from providers including CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, Yahoo Finance, Google News and public blockchain nodes.
The DEX page embeds Dexscreener in a frame; that site sets its own cookies and follows its own policy. If you attach a webhook to an alert, the alert details are sent to the address you entered when it fires.
Wallet tracking
Openview is read-only. It never asks for a seed phrase or a private key, and it cannot move funds. Wallet addresses you track are public blockchain addresses, looked up through our server so the block explorers do not see your IP.
Security and logs
Our servers briefly hold your IP address in memory to rate-limit abuse. It is never written to the database. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs like any web host.
If you have an account, we count your visits and save the city and country your latest visit came from, as our host estimates it from your connection. We use this only to understand who uses Openview. We do not save your IP address, and we set no cookie for it.
Your control
Signing out removes the copy of your data from that browser; your account keeps it, and it is back the moment you sign in again. You can edit or clear your synced data from within the app, and you can delete your account and everything stored with it yourself, in the phone app under Menu → Delete account, or ask us to by email — see how to delete your account for the steps, what is removed, and how long it takes.
Children
Openview is not intended for anyone under 13.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. For any privacy question, or to request deletion of your account, email info@openview.site.
